Of course, new month, new games. Sony is pretty on point this month too, so Microsoft and Sony are crushing it this June.
Straight from the people at Sony… Holy shit Free NBA 2K16 and Gone Home on PS4?!:
First up, to help get everyone hyped for the NBA Finals, we’ve teamed up with 2K to add NBA 2K16 to the June lineup. One of the most critically acclaimed sports titles ever, NBA 2K16 has tons of great gameplay for everyone. With robust offline modes like MyCareer and MyGM, and deep online modes including MyTeam and MyLeague, there is an incredible amount of content to offer all types of gamers. So be the baller you always wanted to be and guide your team to the NBA Championship.
Next up is Gone Home: Console Edition. Gone Home is one of the most talked about titles from the last few years for good reason. While it’s an interesting exploration/adventure game, it’s the narrative of Gone Home that’s so remarkable. The game has a strong development team, including Steve Gaynor, who worked on a few titles in the BioShock series. The Fulbright Company (now just Fullbright) created an intimate and unique story that is well worth your time.
- NBA 2K16, PS4
- Gone Home: Console Edition, PS4
- Echochrome, PS3
- Siren: Blood Curse (Episodes 1-12), PS3
- God of War: Chains of Olympus, PS Vita
- Little Deviants, PS Vita
I will dust off my Vita (that’s a lie, I have it charged and ready to go) for God of War and Little Deviants…
Bradley and I are musicians, we play all ranges of pieces. From the Pop Punk of NOFX and Lagwagon that brought us together as friends nearly 22 years ago, to jazz, video game music, to metal, to more metal.
Man, that Metal is what gets us, intricate technical metal, loud chugga chugga metal, in your face thrash. We love it all.
So, when Doom came out earlier this month, we were excited for it and had a fun time. Hell I even reviewed it. The one thing that made us super excited beyond the gameplay and visuals. The music.
Mick Gordon. That name might not mean much of anything to you. To us, we fell in love with creative prowess when we started playing the new Killer Instinct.
He is the composer of the music we heard in Doom. He lovingly sat back and treated the series with respect. He took the iconic sound of E1M1 and re-imagined it into a heavy new area.
He took some time out to see behind the scenes of how he came up with some of these tracks. Such a great watch. You should follow Mick on Youtube. Dude is awesome.
Well, for a former podcast and current entertainment production company named after one of the titular character’s theme music. You would expect us to have MORE KI news more often.
But this is what we have right now. You probably have seen it, but this get’s Bradley and I’s panties all moist. Who the hell ISN’T excited for Gargos’ return to KI, with his teleport punching, wing flapping, death making awesomeness!
If you haven’t played XCOM, you will enjoy the hell out of it. But Goat Simulator was fantastic on PC. The Crew was… a game? Super Meat Boy is frustratingly good. What does Microsoft have to say? The following:
As usual, all games are available only for a limited time, as part of the ongoing Games with Gold program, so sign up now to get in on the action!
* Goat Simulator ($9.99 ERP): Available from June 1-30 on Xbox One
* The Crew ($29.99 ERP): Available from June 16-July 15 on Xbox One
* Super Meat Boy ($14.99 ERP): Available from June 1-15 on Xbox 360 and Xbox One
* XCOM Enemy Unknown ($39.99 ERP): Available from June 16-30 on Xbox 360 and Xbox One
On June 1, we’ve got the next-gen goat simulation technology of Goat Simulator! Crash through the world as a goat, do some epic tongue grabs and rack up points for destroying everything you see. You can even compete with your friends to see who can smash more things in style. Oh, did we mention you can be a goat?
Then, on June 16, take a wild ride with your friends in The Crew. A revolutionary, action-driving open-world game with a richly detailed recreation of the United States, The Crew offers an online driving experience like none other. Tackle challenges across the map, infiltrate underground racing teams and defeat dangerous criminal groups with Alex Taylor. There is no better time to take a test drive.
Also on June 1, put on your platforming shoes because Super Meat Boy is coming at you full force on both Xbox 360 and Xbox One. It has over 300 levels, epic boss fights and tons of unlockable secrets like retro warp zones. You can even play with characters from other famous indie games. So, there is only one question left to ask: Can you run, jump and wall jump through pure madness?
Last but certainly not least, get strategic and fight off aliens with XCOM: Enemy Unknown. Prepare your squad of custom-equipped troops with countless upgrades, abilities, and equipment, because XCOM: Enemy Unknown is the complete turn-based strategy package.
We’re excited to celebrate our birthday in June, and we’re even more excited to continually give away amazing free games to our Xbox Live Gold members. Check out the full details on our Games with Gold program, and make sure you get in on the action!

Square-Enix® and Eidos®-Montréal unveiled their Live Action Trailer for the much anticipatedDeus Ex: Mankind Divided™. This short immerses you in the world ofDeus Ex®, providing you with insight as to how things have changed since the events of Deus Ex: Human Revolution®, outlining the shift from the golden era of augmentation to the Mechanical Apartheid.
In 2027, mechanically-augmented people all over the world suffered from extreme psychotic delusions, lost control of themselves, and started attacking people. Millions died. Hundreds of thousands more were injured and maimed. In the wake of this global catastrophe, society has become divided by hatred, prejudice, and fear, with many countries now enacting harsh laws. The most notable of these laws is the highly controversial “Human Restoration Act”, aimed at isolating “Augs” and keeping them away from “Naturals”.
We have been waiting patiently for more gameplay and more in game goodness, however, we will take this trailer and press release for now, to fuel our fires for this game.
Just in case you don’t remember what the game is supposed to look like:
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will launch on August 23 for PlayStation®4, Xbox One, and Windows PC.
What happens when you mix NYHC and Dark Souls? You praise the motherfucking sun, that’s what.
And you never stop praising the sun.
It’s been a long time since we’ve heard new material recorded by these guys, but it’s been worth the wait. With an EP in the wings of all new tracks, Sean Mesler (who some know as a Video Game Journalist and Writer for Gamespew), posted a new track called “Cinder” all over social media.
Drowning Room had been an integral part of Bradley and I’s teenage years in NY. It’s great to hear them back at it, and this song is an homage to what became Sean’s favorite game series in the past year now, with him plowing through every game in all the SoulsBorne universe.
So, without further ado, here is “Cinder” From Drowning Room.
Praise the sun!
